Youth Camp Re-Cap
Saturday morning marked the end of our youth camps. The five weeks were filled with tons of activity and spiritual growth. What a blessing it was to join in on the summer staff appreciation night Saturday evening, where summer staff shared testimonies of how they saw God at work this summer. We heard story after story of how God tore down walls campers’ hearts, and how He drew person after person to Himself. A common theme from the counselors was the power of prayer on behalf of these youth . Many of the counselors shared how the spiritual growth in the lives of their campers had nothing to do themselves, but everything to do with a big God with a relentless love. How awesome to be a part of what He is doing in the lives of the youth here this summer! From what we know 95 youth have trusted Christ this summer, including those in youth camps and wilderness trips, and 94 individuals committed their lives to Christ the last evening of Super High (our high school youth camp). Please pray that these decisions would fall upon fertile soil in these youth’s lives, and that Satan would not be able to steal their joy as they return home.
Our adventure ministries program continues on for the rest of the summer leading youth into the wilderness to experience the presence of God in a whole different way. Youth are placed in situations where they more readily see their need for God as they are stretched physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Please pray for our wilderness trip leaders as they serve these youth and as many opportunities open up for spiritual conversations. It’s amazing how much a person opens their heart up while sitting around a campfire under the stars! God works in interesting, but spectacular ways!
